Taekwondo (Co-ed)
The purpose of this club is to teach this art to the students,
faculty, and staff of Denison University. Each member will have
specific material that they must learn, depending on their belt
rank. Classes are designed to be challenging, exciting,
disciplined, fun, and a good workout. We hope that as our members
master the self-defensive skills of Taekwondo, their
self-discipline and self-confidence will also improve.
Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art that means "art of the hand and
foot". The purpose of this club is to teach this art to the
students, faculty, and staff of Denison University. Each member
will have specific material that they must learn, depending on
their belt rank. Classes are designed to be challenging, exciting,
disciplined, fun, and a good workout. We hope that as our members
master the self-defensive skills of Taekwondo,
their self-discipline and self-confidence will also improve.
The Denison Taekwondo Club depends on outside Taekwondo
instructors so that members can test for new belt ranks and be
recognized by the national association with which it is associated.
Because these instructors are not Denison students (or
faculty/staff), they cannot be members of the club. However, they
are essential to the club's existence and are included in the
club's constitution. They work closely with club officers and
members, and they lead most club meetings as Taekwondo classes.
