"Think Pink Weekend" for Denison Athletics
This weekend Denison University will help raise money for breast cancer research at all seven home athletic events with the first-ever “Think Pink Weekend”.
The slate of events will kick off on Friday night when the DU volleyball team hosts Kenyon for a 6:30 p.m. match at Livingston Gymnasium. Saturday's festivities begin at 11 a.m. when the field hockey team entertains DePauw at Piper Stadium.
Action continues at 1 p.m. when women’s soccer hosts Hiram at Barclay-Thomsen Field, while the volleyball and swimming and diving teams take on Ohio Wesleyan at Livingston Gymnasium and Gregory Pool, respectively.
At 2 p.m., the Big Red football team faces off against Oberlin at Piper Stadium, while the men’s soccer team wraps up the day at Barclay-Thomsen Field with a 4 p.m. match against the Terriers.
Admission to the football game against the Yeomen will be waived. Students with donation boxes will be stationed at the entrance gates of the football stadium and at various places at each of the other venues.
Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the games. All of the proceeds collected this weekend will go to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure, the global leader of the breast cancer movement.
