Walter “Tock” Krause received the Varsity D Association’s Athletic Citation. The Athletic Citation is a special recognition awarded to individuals who have attended or been associated with Denison and have distinguished themselves and the University through their athletic endeavors, accomplishments, or contributions. Walter has a long history of providing special support for Denison Athletics. He served as a football and basketball manager for the Big Red while he was still in high school. During his college days, Tock was a football and lacrosse manager and time keeper. Following graduation and at various times from the 1950’s through the 1990’s, Tock served as a scoreboard and clock operator for many Denison sports including football, basketball and lacrosse and was also a track timer.
Tock was a member of Beta theta Pi fraternity and a student volunteer for the Granville Volunteer Fire Department. Following graduation, Tock continued as a member of the Granville Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years. He was a member of the Granville Rotary Club, and received the William Allen Avery Service Above Self Award from the Rotary Club.
