Tara Maloney Parsley, a speech communication major from Bronxville, N.Y., lettered four times each in field hockey (1983-86) and lacrosse (1984-87). In field hockey, Parsley was captain and the team’s leading scorer in 1986. She was an All-NCAC pick 1984, ’85 and ’86. In 1986 Parsley was recognized as the NCAC Field Hockey Player of the Year, and she was an All-American selection in both 1985 and ’86. In 1994, she was named to the NCAC 10th Anniversary All-Decade Field Hockey Team.

In lacrosse, Parsley was an All-NCAC honoree in 1985, ’86 and ’87; an All-West Region Team selection in 1986 and ’87; and she earned All-American kudos in 1985, ’86 and ’87. She was also named to the NCAC 10th Anniversary All-Decade Women’s Lacrosse Team.

Parsley was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and was a volunteer with the Granville Fire Department. In 1989 and ’90, she returned to Denison as an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach. Parsley holds master’s degrees in health education from Ohio State and in occupational therapy from New York University.
