Barry Porter was both a football and lacrosse standout during his days at Denison. As a fullback and tackle for the Big Red grid squad, Porter earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as well as the Mike Gregory Award for outstanding defensive play during his senior season (1958) He was a four-year letterman on the lacrosse team, earning All-Midwest honors in 1957, ’58 and ’59. Porter was elected as captain of both the Big Red football and the lacrosse teams. As an undergraduate at Denison, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honorary.
