Thomas Richner was a four year letter winner and a 28-time All-American for the Denison men’s swimming team from 1994-97. Richner was named the 1996 NCAC Swimmer of the Year after winning individual championships in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

At the national championships, Richner became one of just two Denison male swimmers to post All-American performances in all seven possible events spanning a four year career. Being a 28-time All-American is one of the greatest achievements in the world of collegiate swimming. 

At the conference level, Richner captured five conference championships, highlighted by three consecutive titles in the 100 butterfly. He was a three-time CSCAA  Academic All-American and in 1997 he became Denison’s 21st recipient of the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

After graduating from Denison he began a successful career as an animator, winning three Emmy Award Certificates for contributions to the television series The Simpsons.
