Janet Shock Beardsley was a member of Denison’s starting golf unit in 1938, 1939 and 1940, and played No. 3 position for the 1938 Ohio Conference Championship team.  She won the state junior amateur women’s championship in 1938, 1940 and 1942, and won the state senior women’s amateur title in 1976 and 1977.

She was also a member of the U.S. Golf Association Board.
