Marvin Smith, a 1958 Denison graduate, earned four letters in both track and football.  He was an All-Ohio Conference selection for two years in football and won honorable mention on the Little All-American team.

Smith set numerous Denison rushing records and still holds the DU career records for most points (252) and most touchdowns (42).
