Dennis Thome earned All-American honors as a defensive middle guard for Coach Keith Piper in 1975. He was the recipient of an NCAA post-graduate scholarship for outstanding scholar-athletes, and then returned to Denison as a coach. He served as defensive coordinator for the football team, and as assistant baseball coach before joining the staff at Ohio University.
