Ted Waite was a four-time letter winner in indoor and outdoor track and field from 1982-85. He received the team’s Most Improved Athlete Award in 1983 and was named track’s Most Valuable Player in 1983, 1984, and 1985. He was voted to the All-OAC team in 1982 and 1983 and was All-NCAC in 1984 and 1985. He was also the OAC’s Field Athlete of the Year in both indoor and outdoor Track in 1983 and the NCAC’s Outstanding Field Athlete in both indoor and outdoor track in 1984 and 1985. At the NCAA Championships in 1984 he finished 11th in the long jump. In 1985 he tied for fifth in the same event and was named an All-American. Ted was a member of Delta Chi fraternity.
