Jim Cope enters his 11th season as a member of the Big Red staff and will coach the wide receivers in 2011. Cope brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the Big Red sidelines.

The Denison receiving corps are coming off a strong 2010 campaign which saw them total 2,039 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.  That marked the most receiving yards at Denison since 2001.

Cope came to Denison in 2001 after serving 16 years as an assistant coach at Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio.  That season the Big Red set numerous offensive records as quarterback Greg Neuendorf threw for a school-record 3,306 yards and 30 touchdowns passes.

A 1973 graduate of Ohio University, Cope taught health and human physiology at Tri-Valley High School in Dresden, Ohio for 30 years.  He also spent seven years as an assistant football coach at Tri-Valley. Cope resides in Zanesville with his wife, Linda.
