AJ Hatem begins his first season as an assistant coaching intern with the Big Red in 2011 and will coach the running backs.

Currently a senior at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, Hatem will graduate in December with a degree in exercise science. A native of Lancaster, Ohio, Hatem played high school football at Fisher Catholic where he started at linebacker for the Fighting Irish.

Prior to taking over as the running backs coach at DU, Hatem has also volunteered at football summer campus at the University of Cincinnati, Lauren's Camp at Otterbein University and the Denison Big Red Football Camp.
