Joe Ulrey '09 returns to Denison after spending the 2010 season as the defensive line coach at nearby Kenyon College.  Ulrey will coach the linebackers for the Big Red in 2011.

A native of Marengo, Ohio and Sparta-Highland High School, Ulrey was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Big Red from 2006 through 2008.  He led the team in tackles in 2006 and 2007 and finished his career with 208 tackles and four interceptions.  In 2007 and 2008 Ulrey was named to the All-NCAC honorable mention squad.

In addition to his coaching stint at Kenyon, Ulrey has also served one season as assistant football and baseball coach at Sparta-Highland High School.
