Sean West returns in 2012 for his third season as the assistant baseball coach at Denison University.  In his first season, along with first-year head coach Mike Clark, the Big Red posted a record of 23-18 record and placed second in the North Coast Athletic Conference after advancing to the championship game of the 2010 NCAC Baseball Championship Tournament in Chillicothe, Ohio.  Denison captured the top seed out of the NCAC's West Division after posting an 11-5 record in league play.  The result was the program's fifth division crown since 2003.

Last year the Big Red won 16 games en route to a fifth place finish in the NCAC.  Senior Matt Forgatch was named to the all-conference first-team after batting .444 with 25 stolen bases and six triples.

A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., West is a 2008 graduate of San Diego Christian College where he received his bachelor of arts in communications.  After graduating from San Diego Christian he served as the interim head coach in the fall of 2008.

Out of high school, West attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where he was named the NCCAA South Region Player of the Year as a sophomore.  He posted a .416 batting average, a .526 on-base percentage, a .596 slugging percentage and stole 17 bases that season for the Sailfish.  That season he also earned NCCAA first-team All-America honors.

West's duties at Denison will include working with hitters, infielders, and outfielders, in addition to serving as the assistant recruiting coordinator and the head of baseball operations.  In the summer he also serves as the General Manager of the Licking County Settlers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.  He currently resides in Granville.
