The North Coast Athletic Conference and the Ohio Athletic Conference are partnering to raise funds and awareness of cancer during Suits and Sneakers Week in the name of Capital University head coach Damon Goodwin. Goodwin, who is currently battling leukemia, has been the head coach at Capital since 1994-95. Since that time, Denison and Capital have met on the hardwood 13 times.
All donations collected at the door during Wednesday's men's basketball game between Denison University and DePauw University will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the American Cancer Society in Goodwin's name.
In addition, NCAC and OAC coaches will be wearing orange ties on Saturday, January 30 as a show of support for Coach Goodwin, his family and the cause. All donations are tax-deductible and go to support LLS research, patient services, advocacy, education and community services. Please visit lls.org for more information and to donate online. Donations can also be made to the American Cancer Society.
