Three named to All-Academic team

Denison Cross Country senior Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and juniors Alexander Chappars (Xenia, Ohio/Bellbrook) and Victoria Pottieger (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) have each been named to the 2010 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Academic Team.

To qualify for the honor, each athlete must have at least a 3.40 GPA and be named All-Region. 

For Navarre, it is her third appearance on the All-Academic Team.  She finished 28th in the NCAA Regional Championship in 2010 with a time of 22:47.3.  

Chappars and Pottieger each earned All-Academic status for the first time in 2010.  Chappars checked in at 25:58.6 at the 2010 NCAA Regional Championship, good enough for 33rd overall.  Meanwhile, Pottieger placed 30th at the Regional, crossing the finish line at 22:50.3.
