Denison's women's golf team finished in 14th place at the 36-hole Laura Bump Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Mill Creek Golf Course in Ostrander, Ohio. DU finished with a two-round total of 764.
First-year's Stacey Adams and Amanda Castle led Denison on Saturday and Sunday as Adams fired rounds of 90 and 88 to finish in a tie for 41st. Castle followed in 56th place after rounds of 95 and 91. Senior Liz Tristano shot an opening round 95 and followed with a 97 on Sunday. DU's scoring was rounded out by Carly Schultz' rounds of 105 and 103 which landed her in a tie for 75th place out of the field of 90 golfers. Katie Wellman and Parker Shea finished in a tie with 218 strokes as Wellman ended with rounds of 106 and 112 while Shea finished with a 110 and a 108. Grace Summers rounded out the Denison scoring with rounds of 106 and 114.
Allegheny College was the team champion with a two-day total of 663. They held off second-place Wittenberg by five strokes.
Denison's women will return to the links next Saturday for the 36-hole Allegheny Invitational which is a part of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series.
