Kristin Ramey is entering her first season as the head women's lacrosse coach at Denison University in 2011-12.  Ramey was named Denison's ninth head coach in June of 2011.

Ramey came to Denison after spending five years as an assistant coach at Bridgewater College (Va.) and McDaniel College (Md.).  At Bridgewater, Ramey served as the assistant coach in women's lacrosse and field hockey and was also an adjunct professor in the department of exercise science since August of 2010.

Prior to her season at Bridgewater, Ramey spent four years as an assistant coach at her alma mater, McDaniel.  From 2006 through 2008 she was a graduate assistant coach with the Green Terror, and in August of 2008, she became the full-time assistant coach for lacrosse and field hockey.  In addition to her coaching duties, Ramey also served as the assistant fitness director and taught physical activity classes in the exercise science department.

In 2008, Ramey earned her master's degree in exercise science from McDaniel and in 2005 she received her bachelor of arts in exercise with a minor in business administration from McDaniel.

As a player, Ramey was a four-year member of the McDaniel women's lacrosse and field hockey teams.  In 2005 she received the Women's Athletic Alumnae Award as the school's most outstanding senior athlete.  A two-time first-team Centennial Conference selection, Ramey led the team in goals (40), assists (13), points (53) and caused turnovers (25).  As a senior, InsideLacrosse.com named her a third-team All-American, and in 2004 she was selected as the team's most valuable player.  Ramey is ranked among the all-time leaders in goals, assists, ground balls, draws and caused turnovers at McDaniel.

Ramey spent one year as a lacrosse coach and physical education teacher at Bedford High School in Bedfordshire, U.K.  She is the director of Crease Ranch Lacrosse and Field Hockey Camp in Houston, Texas and was the assistant coordinator of event and game operations for the 2010 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship weekend in Baltimore, Md.  She has also attended the NCAA/NACWAA Institute for Administrative Advancement and was a three-time mentor and presenter at the Centennial Conference's Snell-Shillingford Coaching Symposium.

The Big Red are coming off one of their most successful seasons in recent history as the team posted a 13-5 record and a perfect 6-0 record in North Coast Athletic Conference play en route to their 16th NCAC championship.  Denison advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in program history before falling to No. 12 ranked Messiah in the first round.  The season was highlighted by a 10-game winning streak that spanned more than a month.  Three members of the Big Red squad were named to the IWLCA all-region squad and seven were named all-conference.

In 2011-12, Leanne Hollinger begins her first year as assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Denison University.

Prior to her arrival in Granville, Hollinger served as the assistant women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse coach at Washington College in Chestertown, Md.  While at Washington, she specialized in goalkeeper training for both sports.  During the summer of 2011, Hollinger coached goalies for the Check-Hers Elite Club team in Westminster, Md.

Hollinger earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and physical education from McDaniel College in 2010.  The Westminster, Md. native played four years of varsity soccer and three years of varsity lacrosse for the Green Terror.  Hollinger earned second-team All-Centennial Conference honors in soccer as a senior.  She was also two-time all- Centennial Conference recipient and a first-team All-Metro selection in lacrosse.

Megan Kingston

Megan Kingston

Title: Asst. Women's Lacrosse Coach
Year: 1st Year

Megan Kingston begins her first year as assistant women’s lacrosse coach in 2011-12.

Kingston earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from McDaniel College in 2007.  As a defender, she started all 19 games as a senior and appeared in 41 contests during her four-year career.  Kingston scooped up 50 ground balls, caused 19 turnovers and assisted on three goals during her time at McDaniel.  She also helped the Green Terror post a 46-23 (.667) record from 2004-07.
