Cobb and Short named All-Americans

Denison seniors Kristin Cobb and Sarah Short were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American squad following their performances at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship in Claremont, Calif.

Cobb earned her fifth and sixth All-American certificate of her career after earning the distinction in both singles and doubles play.  For Short, this marked the first All-American honor of her career.

The duo posted a doubles record of 11-3 this season while advancing to the NCAA's Doubles Championship where they suffered a hard-fought loss to eventual national runner's-up from Emory University.  In the final ITA Central Region rankings, Cobb and Short were the second-ranked doubles squad in the region.  In singles play, Cobb turned in a record of 20-8 while going 3-2 against regionally ranked opponents.  The 2011 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Award winner, Cobb advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA singles championship.

As a team, Cobb and Short led DU to their fifth-straight and seventh overall NCAA Quarterfinals appearance.  Cobb leaves Denison as the program's all-time leader in singles and doubles victories.
