Denison sophomore Aedin Brennan was named North Coast Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week after capturing her second-straight NCAC Heptathlon title on Sunday in Gambier, Ohio.
Brennan won her fourth NCAC Combined Events crown after posting a school and conference record score of 4,860 points in the heptathlon. Her score re-set her own conference mark set at last year's NCAC heptathlon. In addition, she surpassed her school mark of 4,722 set at the 2013 NCAC Division III Outdoor Championship.
The sophomore recorded three personal records and won two of the seven events. Brennan PRed in the shot put (36'11.75"), 200 dash (26.20) and javelin (114'11"). Her victories came in the shot put and the long jump (17'9.75"). In addition to the two wins, Brenna finished runner-up in the 200, high jump, javelin and 800-meter run, and was third in the 110 hurdles.
With her heptathlon victory, Brennan earned the Big Red 10 points heading into next weekend's NCAC Championship in Oberlin, Ohio. The two-day NCAC Championship will begin on Friday and continue through Saturday. Friday's field events will begin at noon, while the running events are slated to start at 3 p.m.
