GRANVILLE, Ohio—Deeds Field-Piper Stadium will be the place to be for sports fans this Saturday. Due to poor field conditions at Denison's soccer facility, Barclay-Thomsen Field, Piper Stadium will serve as the host for four varsity athletic contests on October 28.
The day begins at 11 a.m. as Denison field hockey hosts Kenyon College in a match to decide the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference championship. Denison brings a 12-game winning streak in the match and is 11-2 in conference play.
Women's soccer will host Ohio Wesleyan at 1:30 p.m. A victory for the Big Red will clinch a spot in the upcoming NCAC Tournament. Denison has won two-straight conference matches and is 7-5-4 on the year.
At 4:30 p.m. the Denison men's soccer team will take on Ohio Wesleyan in another match with conference tournament implications. Denison currently sits in third place with 15 points and has clinched a spot in the four-team tournament. Ohio Wesleyan is second in the conference with 19 points.
The day will conclude with a football game between Denison and Hiram at 8 p.m. This was originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. but the start time was adjusted to accommodate all events on the schedule. The Big Red enters the game with a 4-3 record and is coming off an impressive come-from-behind win over Ohio Wesleyan last Saturday.
Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to the start of the field hockey, women's soccer and men's soccer contests. Live broadcasts of all four events will be provided by the Denison Sports Network. Owners of Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and Android TV streaming devices can download the new Denison Sports Network app by visiting the app store on your device and searching "Denison".
