Klimchuk was named NCAC Men’s Golfer of the Week after helping the Big Red win the Muskingum Spring Invitational last weekend at EagleSticks Golf Club. The junior took home medalist honors for the second time in his collegiate career after turning in a two-day total of 142. Klimchuk carded an even-par score of 70 on day one, and followed that up with a two-over par 72 on Saturday. He edged out second-place Mark Williams (Capital) and Alex Blickle (Kenyon) by two strokes.
Davis earned NCAC Women’s Sprinter of the Week honors after helping DU to a sixth-place finish at the Marv Frye Invitational on Saturday. Davis captured the 100 and 200-meter dash titles. She posted a personal-best time of 12.32 in the 100, and completed the 200 in 25.51. With her performances last weekend at the Marv Frye, Davis boasts the NCAC’s best time in both the 100 and 200-meter events. Additionally, the junior sprinter ranks 12th and 21st nationally in the 100 and 200, respectively.
Branche received NCAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week laurels following victory in the triple jump at the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. The rookie won the event with a leap of 45-06.50, which bested is previous PR by 2-07.50. That performance also moved him into sixth on the school's top performers list. Branche’s jump currently ranks 19th nationally and is the top distance in the conference.
Both the men’s golf and the track and field teams will travel to Delaware, Ohio this weekend for competition. The DU golfers will compete in the OWU Strimer Memorial Invitational at Glenross Golf Club, while the track and field team will take part in the annual Division III All-Ohio Championship hosted by the Battling Bishops.
