Four Big Red track & field athletes traveled to Naperville, Ill. for the Gregory Final Qualifier, hosted by North Central College.
Kosanovich came into the meet with a PR of 3:52.33 in the 1,500 meter run. On the bubble for the NCAA Championship and needing to shave a bit of time, Kosanovich did place third overall, but failed to improve his PR, crossing with 3:53.43.
In the men’s triple jump, Branche placed fifth, posting a distance of 44’5.25”. His PR is 46’8.25” set at the NCAC Championship on May 5.
On the women’s side, Davis was also looking to shave some time from her 25.04 season-best time in the 200 meter dash. She would place second overall but was just over that time, crossing the finish line in 25.41.
In preparation of her likely invitation to the NCAA Championship in the heptathlon, Brennan was the busiest member of the Big Red team on Saturday night. She competed in three events, taking 20th in the high jump, 15th in the 100 meter hurdles, and 13th in the 200 meter dash.
In the 200 meter dash she posted a time of 26.83. In the 100 meter hurdles she would post a time of 16.28 and in the high jump she cleared 4’10.25”.
Davis qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship meet in the 200-meter dash for the second year in a row with her PR time of 25.04, while Brennan returns to the national stage for the second time this year. The freshman enters the 22-person field with the eighth-best score in the heptathlon (4,629).
