Steven Hettrich is a four-year letter winner and a two-time All-American in men’s lacrosse.
A second-team All-American as a junior and a first-team selection as a senior, Hettrich scored 77 career goals which ranks 24th all-time at Denison. A three-time All-NCAC selection, Hettrich earned first-team honors as a sophomore in 1996 and again as a senior in 1998. That season Hettrich also served as a team captain.
The Big Red made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament with Hettrich on the squad. In 1997, he scored three goals and added one assist in an NCAA quarterfinal loss to rival Ohio Wesleyan. The following year he scored a pair of goals in a narrow loss to Washington and Lee. In four seasons with the Big Red, Hettrich’s teams won 34 games while posting a .642 winning percentage.
