John Lennon was a four year letter winner in soccer from 1978-81 and served as a team captain in 1981. He was named the team’s Most Improved Player in 1979 and led the 1981 team in scoring. John was a three-time All-OAC standout and as a senior, Lennon earned All-Mideast and All-American honors. During John’s playing career, the soccer team was 45-15-6 and made four NCAA post-season tournament appearances. John was a founding member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He went on to study International Business at Warnborough College in Oxford, England, and played professional soccer with the Cleveland Cobras. In addition to being an active volunteer and contributor to YMCA and Junior Achievement, John is an accomplished marathon runner and triathlon participant. Lennon has participated in over thirty major events, including the Boston Marathon and the Ironman World Championships.
