Gina Miccinilli enters her first year as an assistant athletic trainer for the Big Red in 2018-19.
Prior to Denison, Miccinilli served as an athletic training graduate assistant at the McGuffey School District in Washington County, Pa. During her time at McGuffey, Miccinilli assessed and reported athlete progress, collaborated with physical therapists on rehabilitation programs, and organized pre-participation, emergency forms, and IMPACT testing.
In addition to her work at McGuffey, Miccinilli also served as an athletic trainer and camp manager for the Varsity Camp Administration within the Universal Cheerleaders Association. While at UCA, Miccinilli regulated administrative and medical responsibilities and provided care to all cheer squads and staff.
A 2007 graduate of Heidelberg University, Miccinilli received her B.S. in athletic training following more than 800 clinical hours working with Heidelberg’s football, men’s soccer, baseball, volleyball and women’s lacrosse programs. She also offered her athletic training experience to nearby Tiffin University for their softball program and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship.
After Heidelberg, Miccinill earned her master’s degree in athletic training from California University of Pennsylvania in the spring of 2018. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association, and Ohio Athletic Trainers Association. She is also certified by the American Heart Association BLS as a provider, and also holds licenses from the OATA, BOC and is a certified performance enhancement specialist.
A native of Lewis Center, Ohio, Miccinilli currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.
