Beau Scott enters his third year as Denison’s Head of Sports Performance in 2018-19.
Scott designs the strength and conditioning programs for men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, softball, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's golf, and women’s soccer. He also assists with the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Denison’s other varsity sports.
Scott started at Denison in 2015 as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. He has worked in the sports performance field since 2011 where he completed a one-year internship with the Miami University athletic department. From 2004-2012, Scott was a high school and middle school teacher in Indiana. From 2007-12 he served as the head boys basketball coach at Cambridge City Lincoln. He has also been an assistant coach for football and track and field at the high school level.
Scott received his bachelor's degree from Hanover College and received a master's in exercise physiology from Ohio Dominican University. He holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a certified strength and conditioning specialists (CSCS) and certified personal trainer (NSCA-CPT), as well as from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a corrective exercise specialist (CES). Scott has research experience in the areas of force development, biomechanics, muscle recovery, and blood flow restriction (BFR) training.
Scott lives in nearby Heath, Ohio.
