Lynsey Whisner begins her fourth year as Denison's Director of Club Sports, Intramurals and Student Wellness in 2018-19 and is returning for her 18th year at the college.
Prior to 2015, Whisner served as the college's assistant director of club sports and intramurals under Lynn Schweizer in addition to being Denison's head volleyball coach since 2007.
Whisner joined the Denison staff as an assistant softball and volleyball coach in the fall of 2001. She continued in those roles until 2007, when she was named head volleyball coach. Whisner leaves her volleyball post ranked second in career victories at Denison with 108. In 2012, she was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Big Red to a record of 21-10. In 2012 and 2013 her teams posted back-to-back 20-win seasons, and in 2014 the Big Red logged another winning campaign, posting a 15-13 record.
Whisner graduated from Capital University in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business management. She received her master's degree in business administration from Otterbein University in 2008. In 2011, in addition to her coaching duties at Denison, Whisner was awarded faculty rank as an assistant professor.
