GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Trailing 8-7 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, Denison responded with a six-run rally to top Heidelberg, 13-8.  The victory moves Denison's winning streak to five.

Denison's comeback was kicked off when Noah Hahn was hit by a pitch from Heidelberg reliever Marc Ochoa.  Ethan Carlyon responded with a pinch-hit single to left, moving pinch runner Nick Pettigrew to third.  Jack Blanchard tied the game at 8-8 with a base hit through the left side.  A walk to Eric Zmuda loaded the bases and a wild pitch by Cory Jacobs in relief of Ochoa gave Denison the lead.

Evan Flax, who was 3-for-3 at this point followed with a Baltimore Chop that went high over the head of the third baseman and into left field for the RBI single.  Phil Papaioannou turned an eight-pitch at-bat into a walk, loading the bases once again with no outs.  Tanner Johnson stepped the plate after blasting a 2-run homer over the wall in left in the first inning.  Johnson drew a walk and a RBI on five pitches, giving Denison a 12-8 lead.  One more run scored when Sam Frazen grounded into a 6-4-3 double play with the bases loaded.  Joseph Maydwell singled to right to extend the inning but was caught stealing at second to end the inning.

In the top of the ninth, Denison's Connor Hanrahan pitched to five batters and did not allow a run, helping the Big Red improve to 11-3 on the season.  With the loss, Heidelberg fell to 10-7.

Flax was 4-for-4 with a walk, three RBIs and three runs scored.  Johnson was 1-for-3 with two walks and three RBIs and Blanchard finished the day 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored.

Perley Provost got the start and pitched 6.1 innings.  He allowed eight runs, only two of which were earned off nine hits to go along with five strikeouts.  Andrew Bruss picked up the win in relief after pitching 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball.  He faced the minimum while striking out two.

Heidelberg scored eight runs off of 10 hits while committing one error.  Denison plated 13 runs off of 11 hits with three errors.

The Big Red returns to action on Tuesday (March 28) when they travel to Ohio Northern for a 9-inning contest beginning at 4 p.m.
