CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior Mikey Rivera was recognized by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon as their Pitcher of the Week following a dominant stretch out of the bullpen for the Big Red last week.
Appearing in all five of Denison's games last week, Rivera totaled 13 strikeouts over 10.0 innings of work with a 0.00 ERA, including three innings of one-hit baseball against No. 20 Marietta to earn the win in a 6-4 defeat of the Pioneers. Rivera also earned his sixth save of the season when he tallied a swinging strikeout in Denison's 4-2 win over No. 2 Wooster on Saturday in Granville. Rivera currently holds a 2-1 record in 2018 with a 1.25 ERA.
Coming off a 15-2 record in the month of April, the Big Red will return to the diamond on Wednesday, May 2 when they host Oberlin College for a doubleheader set to start at 2 p.m.
