CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sophomore Taylor Perrett was recognized by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday afternoon as the NCAC Pitcher of the Week following a pair of dominant pitching performances against Vassar and Williams last week in Florida.
In Denison's 7-1 victory over Vassar on Monday, March 18, Perrett allowed four hits and one run over five innings of action with three strikeouts. Six days later, Perrett stayed strong on the mound to earn his first victory of the season after allowing zero runs on five hits with nine strikeouts in six innings of work in DU's 5-0 victory over Williams College.
Through two starts in Florida, the sophomore from Battle Creek, Mich. allowed one run on nine hits with 12 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. On the season, Perrett boasts a 1.45 ERA with 21 strikeouts and three earned runs in 18.2 innings pitched.
Off to their hottest start in program history (13-2), Perrett and the Big Red will return to action on Tuesday, March 26 when they welcome Ohio Northern University to Granville for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
