Baldinger’s blistering week recognized by NCAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior catcher Brad Baldinger was honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Monday as their Player of the Week following a trio of dominant performances against Muskingum, Oberlin, and Wabash.

In Denison's 13-3 victory over the Muskies to open the week, Baldinger helped DU tally 13 runs on 13 hits while going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a run scored, and a stolen base. He followed that up with his best performance of the season against Oberlin when the junior went a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run and a new season-best three runs scored and five runs driven. The win also led the Big Red to a series sweep of the Yeomen and set a new program record for wins in a single season (33). 

In the regular season finale against Wabash, Baldinger's red-hot week continued against the Little Giants when he went 3-for-3 with a run. The win also helped Denison move their overall record to 34-6 in 2019. Through three games, the Massapequa, N.Y. native finished the week hitting .818 with nine hits, seven RBIs, five runs scored, and 12 total bases.

On the season, Baldinger will enter the conference tournament with a .405 batting average, 23 RBIs, 17 runs scored, and seven doubles.

Baldinger & Co. will turn their attention to Thursday, May 9 when they open the 2019 NCAC Tournament with No. 3 seeded Allegheny College at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. First-pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
