CHILLICOTHE, Ohio--  John Troll pitched 4.2 innings of scoreless relief and Cam Farren laced an RBI single to centerfield in the eighth to give Denison a 5-4 victory over Allegheny in game two of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

With the win, Denison remains in the winner's bracket and will play top-seeded Wooster at 4:30 p.m.  Allegheny will face Wabash in an elimination game following the Denison-Wooster contest.

Denison plated the first run of the game in the first on an RBI double by Will Krushena off Allegheny starter Sean Kealey. Krushena tied Drew Shamrock for the Denison single-season RBI record with 63. The Gators took the lead with two runs in the fourth on a Tommy Cannon solo home run and an infield single that scored Bret Kelly on a throwing error by Brian McAuliffe at third base.

Two more Allegheny runs crossed the plate in the fifth and that was enough to end DU starter Danny Brackman's day.  In 4.1 innings, Brackman allowed three earned runs on eight hits while striking out three.

Troll entered in the fifth with one out and the bases loaded.  He got Kelly to ground out to short, scoring Tyler Hettich. He followed that up by striking out Brett Heckert.

Troll was magnificent in relief, striking out six while scattering only two hits.

DU tied the game in the fifth on a two-run home run by McAuliffe.  It was his 10th home run of the season, tying him with Tanner Johnson '18 for second on Denison's single-season list.  Brian Regan holds the record with 12 home runs in 2003.

In game No. 3 of the tournament, Wooster took a 7-1 lead on Denison after two innings and scored seven more in the fourth to blow the game wide open.  The 19-3 loss pushed Denison into Friday's elimination game at 10 a.m. versus the winner of Allegheny-Wabash.  Denison starter Will McManaman (6-1) was charged with the loss.  Wooster starter Evan Faxon got the win, improving to 6-1.
