Michelle Kabaira was named the National Defensive Player of the Week by Synapse Sports after leading Denison to wins over Earlham and Wittenberg.  Kabaira and the Denison defense allowed only one shot and three penalty corners in 140 minutes of field hockey.

Denison defeated Wittenberg 1-0 and handed Earlham a 2-0 loss to remain undefeated in North Coast Athletic Conference play at 7-0.

Kabaira was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American second-team and was the NCAC's Defensive Player of the Year in 2018.

The Big Red will host DePauw University on Saturday (Oct. 6) at 11 a.m. as they look to improve to 10-2 on the season.
