GILBERT, Ariz. – Denison field hockey's junior goalie Teya Adams was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Tuesday as an honorable mention weekly award winner following a pair of impressive performances against Dickinson and Elizabethtown this past weekend.
In the Big Red's 2-1 comeback win over Dickinson, Adams led both sides with seven saves on eight shots from the Red Devils for an .875 save percentage. The Rochester, N.H. native followed that performance with a 3-0 shutout against Elizabethtown on Saturday where she posted three saves and earned her second win of the season.
Through three seasons with the Big Red, Adams holds an overall record of 24-4 while collecting 74 saves and a save percentage of .787.
Adams and the Big Red will return to action on Friday, September 6 when they travel to Washington, Pa. to take on the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College at 7 p.m.
