OBERLIN, Ohio--  Denison clinched a share of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship after a 5-0 victory over Oberlin College on Saturday.  The Big Red finished in a three-way tie for first place in the NCAC at 7-1 but won the tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.

The Big Red will host No. 4 seed, DePauw University, on Wednesday (Nov. 6) at 3 p.m. from Piper Stadium.

Denison took a 1-0 lead against the Yeowomen in the final minute of the first quarter when AC Veith scored an unassisted goal against Oberlin goalie Julia Vincent.

In the second, DU got goals from Charlotte Godfrey thanks to an assist by Veith. Less than a minute later, Madeleine Hunt scored an unassisted goal to put the Big Red up 3-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the two Charlotte's, Godfrey and Charlotte Happel rounded out the scoring with unassisted goals.

Denison outshot Oberlin 31-3 and won the penalty corner battle 17-2.  Vincent finished with 17 saves for the Yeowomen while Teya Adams recorded two saves for Denison.

This is Denison's third-straight NCAC Championship. The Big Red lead all NCAC institutions with 12 conference championships in field hockey.
