GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison field hockey advanced to their third-straight North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship match following a 2-0 win over DePauw in the conference semifinal. The top-seeded Big Red will now host No. 3 Kenyon College on Saturday, November 9 at 2 p.m. at Piper Stadium after the Ladies defeated No. 2 Ohio Wesleyan 2-1 in overtime.

Denison earned a spot in the conference title game after freshman Madeleine Hunt scored twice for the Big Red and helped keep the Tigers off the board with only one shot on goal. This marked DU's sixth-straight win over DePauw dating back to 2017.

In Saturday's title match, the Big Red will look to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Ladies earlier this season, their only loss in conference play. The match was tied 1-1 through the first five minutes of action on goals from Isabella Meneguzzi and Meg Baylis, but Kenyon's Sarah Metzmaier broke the tie at 49:20 as the Ladies took the win.

Looking to capture their third NCAC Tournament title in the last three years, the Big Red are currently 15-3 on the season and are riding an eight-game winning streak where they have outscored their opponents 25-1. Junior Charlotte Godfrey continues to lead the DU offense with nine goals and six assists for 24 points, all of which rank top-five in the conference. Hunt ranks second on the team with seven goals, including five in her last six games, while Abby Scully and Maya Tumiwa have combined for 12 goals and 10 assists on the season. Senior Charlotte Happel checks in as Denison's fifth player with double-digit points on the year, collecting four goals and three assists for 11 points.

On defense, the combination of Scully, Ali Gakenheimer, Rachel Kelsey, and Lyse Wagner have anchored a Big Red defense that has recorded 12 shutouts in 2019 and has held the opposition to just eight goals in 18 matches.

Junior goalie Teya Adams continues to lock down the DU cage with 46 saves on the season and a .852 save percentage, good for second-best in the NCAC. She also holds the second-best goals-against average in the country at .510, only behind Kenyon's Payton Doan at .380.

Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 and under).  Students with a valid NCAC institution ID, as well as the first 50 members of the Denison faculty or staff, are admitted free of charge.  A live video stream will be provided by the Denison Sports Network beginning at 1:45 p.m.
