GRANVILLE, Ohio--  Four Ohio Wesleyan players scored in double figures and the Battling Bishops outscored Denison 11-3 over the final three minutes to escape with a 67-58 win over the Big Red.

Ohio Wesleyan led by 10 points with 12 minutes to play but the Big Red charged back.  Jack Coulter started things off with a 3-pointer off a feed from Fred BrouMatt Doyle followed with a 3-point play on a fast break, cutting the deficit to four.  With DU trailing by five with just under four minutes to play, Coulter was fouled on a 3-point try.  He missed the shot by connecting on 2-of-3 at the line to make it a three-point game at 56-53.

A blocked shot by Doyle gave the ball back to Denison and at the other end, Kevin Cheng found Doyle for the basket getting Denison to within one point of the lead at 56-55 with 3:13 left.

The Battling Bishops responded with a 3-pointer from first-year center Nick Carlson, taking the air out of the Big Red comeback attempt.

With 1:22 left in the game it was a one-possession game with DU trailing by three.  Grant Gossard drove the lane, scored and was fouled by Denison's Gabe Bergeron.  He missed the free throw, but a turnover on Denison's next possession allowed the Battling Bishops to lock up the win on a Jaret Gerber field goal with 27 seconds left.

The difference came down to shooting as Ohio Wesleyan finished the game at 44 percent while DU connected on 38 percent.  From 3-point range, the Big Red was just 7-of-33 (21.2%) while Ohio Wesleyan hit on 10-of-25 (40.0%) from beyond the arc.

Doyle led all scorers with 19 points on an 8-of-15 shooting performance.  He also finished with eight rebounds and three assists.  Brou added 12 points and seven rebounds while Coulter added 10.

Gossard led Ohio Wesleyan (7-5) with 17 points and Gabe Johnson followed with 15 points and seven rebounds.  Ethan Stanislawski and Carlson chipped in 13.
