KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Denison men's basketball was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for their excellence in the classroom this past season. The 2018-19 squad also earned the NABC's Team Academic Excellence Award while also placing four players on the association's Honors Court.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award was the seventh-straight for the Big Red as they were one of four teams from the North Coast Athletic Conference to achieve the honor after posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the season.
Seniors Matt Doyle and Jack Lambert made the NABC's Honors Court for the second consecutive season, while juniors Fred Brou and Nate Haller achieved the honor for the first time in their careers. The four honorees, who recorded an individual grade point average of 3.2 or better, tied with Wabash for second-most in the conference.
Denison finished the 2018-19 season with an overall record of 7-17 while ending the season with a 95-94 overtime victory at Ohio Wesleyan (Feb. 16).
