Denison Men's Golf out in front after opening round at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio—Denison fired an opening round 294 and is out in front at the 11-team Nye Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster.  Three of the four best scores of the day were fired by Big Red golfers.

First-year Ben Scherman leads the field of 60 golfers after an even-par round of 72.  Nick Brodbeck and Christian Early followed with one-over-par rounds of 73 and current North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, Marc Mitchell carded a 76 and sits in a tie for 13th.

Denison will take a six-stroke lead into Sunday's final round at Wooster Country Club.  Thomas More is in second place after an opening round 300.  Kenyon is second at 303 followed by Otterbein at 306 and Baldwin Wallace at 308.
