WOOSTER, Ohio— For the third time in 2018-19 the Denison men's golf team is bringing some hardware back to Granville.  The Big Red won the rain-shortened Nye Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster after posting a 27-hole total of 437.  Thomas More finished a distant second with a 453.

Denison entered the final round with a six-stroke lead over Thomas More but that grew to 16 thanks to five 9-hole scores of +1 or better.  Marc Mitchell led DU on Sunday with a 1-under par, 35.  After an even-par 72 on Saturday, Ben Scherman carded an even-par 36 on his front nine to tie for overall medalist honors with Roni Shin of Baldwin Wallace.

Christian Early also fired a 36 in the second round and was +1 for the tournament (73, 36).  Nick Brodbeck carded a 37 after his opening round 73 to tie for fourth, overall.

Denison's fifth man was Will Grady who also carded an even-par 36 in the final round.

The Big Red will take a week off before teeing it up on their own course for the Ted Barclay Invitational on April 27-28.
