GRANVILLE, Ohio—The Denison men's golf team picked up victory No. 4 after rolling to a 12-stroke win at the Ted Barclay Invitational. Denison fired a two-day total of 596 (+28) on their home course, outdistancing second-place DePauw who finished with a two-round total of 604. Wooster was third at 614 followed by Adrian (534) and Rio Grande (657).
Big Red junior Christian Early edged out teammate Marc Mitchell for medalist honors with consecutive one-over-par rounds of 72. After a 73 on Saturday, Mitchell returned with a 72 on Sunday to finish one stroke behind Early.
Will Grady tied for eighth with rounds of 78 and 75 while playing as an individual. Ben Scherman logged a top-10 finish with an 81 on Sunday after a 73 on Saturday. Connor Holleran shot rounds of 75 and 82 and Nick Brodbeck tied for 17th with a 78 on Sunday after an 80 in round one.
The Big Red is ranked sixth in the most recent Great Lakes regional rankings. Denison will look to punch its ticket to the NCAA Division III Tournament with a victory at next weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Championship which will be played at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio on May 3-5.
