GREENSBORO, N.C.—Denison men's golf improved by seven strokes in the second round of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College. Denison's round of 290 resulted in a tie for seventh place at 587.

The field at the O'Briant-Jensen featured 12 teams in the top-32 of the most recent GolfStat Division III rankings and 22 teams overall.  The No. 22 ranked Big Red tied with the top-ranked team in the field, No. 2 Huntingdon for seventh.

Marc Mitchell was named to the All-Tournament team after tying for third place with a second round 68 (-3).  Mitchell fired a -2 34 on the back nine thanks to a streak of four consecutive birdies on holes 11-14.  He led the 120-player field with 11 birdies across 36 holes.

Christian Early fired an even-par 71 thanks to a strong back nine that saw him post four birdies and shoot a two-under-par 34.

Jesse Felker rebounded with a 75 and Ben Scherman closed out the scoring with a 76.

Emory's Logan Ryan was the medalist at 137 (72, 65).  Carnegie Mellon won the tournament title via tiebreaker.  The Tartans and Emory University finished the tournament at 575 (+7).

The tournament concludes a successful fall season for Denison men's golf. The Big Red gained a national ranking while winning one tournament and logging top-four finishes in three other tournaments.
