GRANVILLE, Ohio--  After advancing to the NCAA Division III semifinals in 2017, the Denison men's lacrosse team is garnering some media attention prior to the start of the 2018 campaign.

In the Face-Off Yearbook rankings presented by Inside Lacrosse, the Big Red is ranked fourth in the top-25.

US Lacrosse Magazine also posted its Division III preseason top-10 and Denison is ranked sixth.

In 2017, Denison advanced to the NCAA Tournament semifinals and finished the year with an 18-2.  Five players were named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American teams and senior Liam Rooney led the nation in assists with 88 and broke varsity records for assists in a season, career assists (162) and career points (282).  All-American and NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Ben Duhoski returns to a defense that allowed only 7.07 goals per game in 2017.

The 2018 season will open on February 18 at Washington and Lee.  The Big Red's schedule features seven teams that appear in the Face-Off Yearbook preseason top-25 (Washington and Lee, Stevenson, Roanoke, Amherst, Dickinson, Middlebury and Ohio Wesleyan).
