GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison University junior Spencer Butler was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III Team of the Week for his performances against Kenyon and Wabash.
Butler scored five goals on eight shots in the Big Red's 25-1 victory over Kenyon on April 18. He followed that performance with five goals and one assist on only six shots in DU's 24-5 win over Wabash on April 21.
Butler is second on the team in goals scored with 41. Against Kenyon, he became the 17th player in program history to score 100 career goals. He enters tonight's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal with 106 career goals. Butler is the fifth Denison player to be named to the Team of the Week in 2018.
Eleventh-ranked Denison will put its 13-3 record on the line tonight when they host Kenyon College in the NCAC Semifinals at Piper Stadium. Faceoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
