GRANVILLE, Ohio--  No. 13 Denison exploded for nine first quarter goals en route to a resounding 24-7 win over visiting Albion College on Saturday at Piper Stadium.

Big Red junior attackman Peter Pittroff had a hand in five of the team's nine first quarter goals.  With 4:55 left in the quarter he made it a 7-1 game while the Britons were playing two-men down after a push and a slashing penalty.

Pittroff converted another man-up goal with 37 seconds left in the quarter after a 30-second pushing penalty on Brady Lawrence.  Thirty-five seconds later, Pittroff beat the clock on a feed from Brooks Davy to give his squad a 9-1 lead entering the second.

In the second quarter, Denison's lead grew to 13 when defensive midfielder Patrick Lunt secured a ground ball off a DU faceoff win.  With the clock about to hit zero, Lunt uncorked a shot from just beyond midfield that drew nothing by nylon.  The 44-yard rocket was the third goal of the season for Lunt.

Denison scored four goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter to take a 21-4 lead on tallies from Brant Pittman, Sam Asman and two from Doug Godine.  DU's fourth quarter scoring was rounded out by Zachary Wiggins, twice, and Jack Phipps.

Henry DeCamp was spectacular facing off for the Big Red. He was 17-for-19 with a game-high 13 ground balls.  He also scored a goal in the first quarter.

Pittroff led the team in points with six (three goals, three assists) and Pittman followed with two goals and two assists.  Godine and Spencer Butler tallied hat-tricks and Armstrong posted two goals.  Richie Bartozzi and Wills Hutras led the defense with two caused turnovers apiece.

Albion goalie Josh Luketic got the start and posted seven saves in 19 minutes.  Trevor McManus played 32 minutes and led the Britons with nine saves.  Jacob Swift led the Albion offense with two goals on four shots.

Denison held a 64-27 lead in shots and a 37-20 advantage on ground balls.  The Big Red was 2-for-4 in man-up opportunities.  Denison goalie Reeves McKenney picked up the win. He played the first half and made one save while facing five shots.

The Big Red is back in Granville on Wednesday (April 3) when they host Oberlin College at 7 p.m.
