GRANVILLE, Ohio--  For the seventh-straight year, Denison and Ohio Wesleyan will meet in the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament Championship. This year's battle for the NCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament will take place at 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 at Piper Stadium.

Denison entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed and is ranked 11th in the latest USILA Division III Top-20 poll.  They defeated the College of Wooster, 17-8 to advance to the championship.  Senior attackman Brooks Davy scored seven goals and Henry DeCamp set a new school record with 24 faceoff wins and 20 ground balls.  The Big Red enters the title game with a 15-2 record while riding a 12-game winning streak.

Peter Pittroff is ranked second in the nation in assists at 4.2 per game.  He is two assists shy of becoming Denison's career leader.  DU boasts the nation's 15th ranked scoring offense at 16.9 goals per game.  Spencer Butler has his sights set on becoming the program's all-time leading goal scorer.  He needs 10 goals to pass Brady Burton who scored 189 goals between 2007-10.

Ohio Wesleyan advanced to the championship after a 25-10 win over Kenyon on Thursday night.  The Battling Bishops jumped out to a 20-3 halftime lead against the Lords thanks to seven goals from Max Tennant and five goals apiece from Cole Jamieson and Steven Hildebrand.  Ohio Wesleyan enters with an 11-7 record and is winners of seven of its last eight contests.  The lone blemish was a 16-13 home loss to Denison on April 27.

This is the 104th meeting between the two rival institutions.  Denison holds a 55-47-1 advantage in the all-time series which dates to 1958.  Denison is 4-2 against the Battling Bishops in six previous NCAC Tournament championship games.

Tickets for the championship game will be $7 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 18.  Students with a valid ID from an NCAC institution will be admitted free of charge.
