TIFFIN, Ohio--  Heidelberg's Joseph Tallarico scored the lone goal of the match in the 73rd minute, leading the Student Princes' to a 1-0 win over Denison on Saturday afternoon at Hidden Valley.

With the score deadlocked at 0-0, Denison's first shot on goal came in the 52nd minute of play when Jasdeep Khaira's attempt was saved by Heidelberg goalkeeper Jake Kress.

Six minutes later, a header by DU's Eric Buer was turned away by Kress.

At the other end of the field, a shot by Alex Aviles that was blocked by a Denison defender led to a Heidelberg corner kick.  John Gall sent the ball into the box and Talarico was there to cash it in for the 1-0 lead. After the goal, Heidelberg managed to hold the Big Red without a shot over the final 18 minutes of play.

The Berg held a 9-5 advantage in shots and a 5-4 lead in corner kicks.  Jack Thomas made two saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal for Denison.  Kress also turned in a pair of saves while posting the clean sheet victory.

Heidelberg improves to 4-0 while the Big Red drops to 1-4.  The Big Red returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Capital University for a 7 p.m. start.
