GRANVILLE, Ohio – First-half goals from Capital's Chewy Gordon and Daniel Bundschuh led the No. 22 ranked Crusaders past the Big Red 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Barclay-Thomsen Field in Granville, Ohio.

Despite a 14-10 shot advantage in favor of Denison, Capital tallied the first three shots of the night, highlighted by Gordon's goal in the top right corner of the net to put the Crusaders in front, 1-0.

At the 28:26 mark in the first half, sophomore Dan Milhollen received a quick feed from freshman Keegan Lee, but Milhollen's attempt was denied by CU's goalkeeper Logan Wiedman on a diving save. Less than a minute later, the Crusaders added another goal off the foot of Daniel Bundschuh, giving the Big Red a 2-0 deficit at intermission.

Trailing 3-0 late in the second half, freshman Allan Kupka and senior Brandon Kozak attempted three-straight shots for DU, with the latter sailing just high over the crossbar. Denison controlled the shot ratio in the second half, 7-3, but was unable to find the net as Capital stayed undefeated on the season and improved to 4-0.

Capital's Bundschuh led the match with four shots and a goal, while Gordon tallied two goals on three shots. Luke Morais finished with two assists. The Big Red received multiple shots from Kupka, Lee, Milhollen, and Matt Rush.

In goal, DU's Dylan Brown collected three saves in a full match effort, while Capital's Wiedman finished with a clean sheet and nine saves in 90 minutes of action.

Denison will return to action on Saturday, September 15 when they host the Cardinals of Otterbein University for a 7 p.m. start at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
