WOOSTER, Ohio--  Wooster's Andreas Xenofontos scored in the fifth minute of play and that proved to be enough to send the Fighting Scots to a 1-0 victory over Denison on Saturday.

The loss drops Denison to 3-2-2 (11 points) in the conference standings, placing them in a tie with DePauw for the fourth and final spot in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.  Wooster is right behind Denison and DePauw with 10 points at 3-3-1.

Denison and Wooster combined for only eight shots in the match.  The Big Red put three shots-on-goal in the second half and nearly tied the match in the 88th minute after Ryan Albers' corner kick found the head of Eric Buer.  His shot was saved by Wooster keeper Will Collis to preserve the shutout.

DU goalkeeper Dylan Brown finished with two saves while playing all 90 minutes.  Both squads finished with one corner kick apiece.

The Big Red have two regular season matches remaining and both are on the road.  They travel to Hiram on Tuesday (Oct. 23) and to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday (Oct. 27).
